Today we got to listen to a guest speaker talk about teaching middle school and how she uses technology in her classroom. I really liked her energy and want to be in her class! Haha. I am really excited to explore the grades and find what grade fits for me!

I can see the option to record your presentation and then send it in to be presented as a very valuable tool. It is so true, some students thrive when they can present a presentation digitally rather than in person. She showed us a video of a girl who created a set of rules for older siblings to maintain order in the household! This video ended up in a talent show and she won first place! It was very funny, and relatable because I am the oldest sibling.

We also got to use an app called Arduino SJ! This app would be really neat to use in a science unit in older grades. I had no idea that light and sounds could be measured. But then again… what can’t be translated in to mathematical language these days…

I learned in this article that app developers use formulas for colours when designing . Shazam, a song detecting app, explains how they use formulas in this article. For some reason this made me start thinking about a potential fiction novel… where we are living in a world coded by someone… I’m sure that exists somewhere!

Anyways, back to the class. Here is a screenshot of my first experiment.
